Pomona, Los Angeles County
The Los Angeles County Fair has been held in Pomona since 1922, when the first one opened in a former beet field beside the railroad tracks. The fairgrounds, now called Fairplex, also host drag racing at the Pomona dragstrip, home of the NHRA Winternationals since 1961. The fair itself moved from late summer to May in 2022.
